New Quilting frame and machine

I bit the bullet and upgraded my quilting frame and machine. I now am the proud owner of a Tin Lizzie 18 and a new larger Grace frame. She is up and running well as you can see here. I plan to do a lot of quilting this winter; I have friends lining up and wanting some quilting done on their quilt tops. Some are just piecers and don't do their own quilting. So maybe I can bring in some $$ to help pay for this new toy-HA!

Fran, on my Lizzie the backing is pinned to the belly bar & the bar that goes through the machine bed. Your backing is on the roller I use for the top (lower front roller). Your backing dips down to go onto that lower front roller...you may or may not have problems with this. It's probably a matter of preference, but seems the drag may keep the machine from stitching out properly...as you get closer to the belly bar, the machine will cause the backing to tighten a lot.
I roll the backing on the two upper rollers, then I lay out my batting, pin it to the bar by the throat of the machine, tuck it between the belly bar & the lower roller, with it dropping to the floor behind the lower roller. I then lay my top and pin it near the top of the batting. I then pull up the leader on that lower roller and pin the top to that. I then roll the top onto the roller, leaving only a slight amount of play, adjust the batting, and tighten the top until it & the backing have just a bit of slack. Lately, I have been floating tops (semi float). If you find you are having a problem with the stitching when you get closer to the front of the frame/machine... you may want to switch the backing to the belly bar.

That's the Grace professional frame? I came over thinking that I would see your recent quilts on here, but no such luck.
